On July 8-12, 2007, a group of Ebenezer Lutheran Church members took a dive into God's word at our annual Vacation bible School. This year's theme, The Great Bible Reef, provided lots of fun games, crafts, snacks, and decorations. We had our opening & closing at the Reef (a partition divider decorated with fish and coral reef cutouts). We had three groups: Minnows, Angelfish, and Dolphins. Crafts included doorhangers with fishy shapes & prints, foam placemats, offering pouches, and on the last day painting bricks. We raised over $100 in our mission project, which raised money to build a school in Micronesia (near Tol Island). The Sunday after VBS we had a wrap-up in church during the Children's Talk where Pastor Powell and the children re-told the Bible stories from VBS and shared a couple songs from VBS. There were about 16-18 participants each night, plus about 12 adult volunteers and two teenage helpers. We were all happy to be diving into God's Word together during that week!
