Stewardship

The Whole Where the Reign Gets In

Dear Ebenezer friends,

It’s the time of year when our thoughts turn to giving and at Ebenezer, to the broader idea of stewardship. Looking up into our beautiful sanctuary reminds us that we have the responsibility to care for our building (fixing the holes where the rain gets in) and for our larger selves (the whole of our lives, our community, and our congregation).

During Advent, we emphasize the wait for the coming reign of God, and so the Stewardship Committee is thinking of all of these things together. We invite you to do the same.

In the packet mailed to Ebenezer members you will find:

  • An engagement form, linking your interests to available ministries and providing a place to pledge your 2019 giving
  • A Simply Giving form, to facilitate electronic giving
  • An explanation of Simply Giving, with some easy ways you can help Ebenezer reduce costs

In years past, we have received back relatively few of these pledge forms. This year, we’re asking everyone to commit to an earnest and good-faith effort to turn them in by Sunday, December 22. Doing so helps us all to be better stewards in our ministries.

And new to 2018! If you would like to fill out the form securely online (I KNOW, right???), go to https://tinyurl.com/EbStew2018.

If you have questions, please reach out to the members of the Stewardship Committee: Peter Eckart, Bev Albert, and Jennifer Cox.

Peace and blessings in this Advent season,

Stewardship Committee
