From the Pastor - December 31

Friends at Ebenezer,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As events have unfolded quickly with the Omicron variant and the holidays coinciding, Chicago and the nation are seeing a new wave of Covid infections surpassing in many ways the worst of this pandemic. I give thanks that this version, while more contagious, seems to be less likely to cause hospitalization and death for otherwise healthy people.

We are all hopeful it will subside more quickly. In the meantime, Ebenezer will continue to pause in-person liturgy through January 9. We will reassess the situation then to determine if we will resume gathering in person on the 16th.

I know many of us are experiencing cases emerging among our families and friends. We continue to pray together that those experiencing symptoms will soon be returned to health, and we restored to community together.

Christ is with us in all things, and together, we will be back as soon as it is safe to do so.

In God's love,

Pastor Michael Fick
