Confirmation class 2020-21

Edgewater Congregations Together Confirmation is designed to combine students in at least 7th-8th grade from Ebenezer, Immanuel, and Unity Lutheran churches in a two-year program of study, fellowship, and faith formation.  In one year, students study the books of the bible. In the second year, participants focus on Lutheran worship, theology, and prayer with the help of Luther’s Small Catechism.  Throughout the year, students are asked to participate in a few service projects, serve as worship leaders, and check in regularly with a “Confirmation Pal” (an adult member of their congregation).  In the middle of each year, they attend a confirmation retreat at Lutherdale Bible Camp in Wisconsin with other ELCA churches in the Metro-Chicago synod, and they finish the year by presenting a final project and by leading the Ascension Day worship service.

Students meet on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of the month from 6:30-7:30pm.

*During the 2020-2021 school year, confirmation class is meeting on zoom.

If you would like to sign up for confirmation or learn more about it, contact Pastor Emily Heitzman.
