Pastor’s Update - December 5, 2020

From Pastor Michael...

December is traditionally a very busy time in the life of our community, and while this year things are happening differently, a full and rich set of offerings remain available in a safe environment. Be sure to mark your calendars and join in all that you can

  • Advent Evening Prayer - Wednesdays Dec. 9 and 16 on YouTube

  • Sankta Lucia - The Swedish American Museum will live-stream a brief outdoor event on Dec. 12 and we'll provide a link to the YouTube recording of it.

  • Glogg and Carols - Simon's Tavern on Clark has Glogg available for purchase to-go, and we'll be singing carols together on Zoom at 7 p.m. on December 15. The video of our sing-along is also on our YouTube channel.

  • The Swedish Julmassa will be recorded by our friends at the Church of Sweden congregation in New York and we'll share the YouTube link to enjoy

  • Longest Night, Dec. 21at 6:30 p.m.will be hosted on Zoom, offering a time of readings, prayer, and reflection

  • Christmas will be celebrated with a festive recorded liturgy on YouTube posted on Christmas Eve afternoon.

As we long for and await a vaccine distribution that will allow us to gather safely, I pray that you will all continue to look out for one another and your neighbors. Christ's grace will carry us through.

Take good care,

Pastor Michael

We will continue to follow the guidance of the ELCA, the CDC, and the City as we make decisions affirming the well being of our neighbors. Remember: If you can help someone out, we need to hear from you at caring@ebenezerchurch.org. This is where we are matching needs with those who can help.

Devotions are being posted on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/ebenezerchicago/
