From the Pastor - June 17
Summer is in full swing! We know that means travel, celebrations, and sabbath rest (all of which are holy, to be sure!) Here are a few reminders, though, as our church life continues:
While rhythms change, our worship life continues to be rich. If you're in town, make sure to come by Sundays at 10 am to enrich your sense of holy wonder in this season.
Remember: our expenses don't take vacations! Sign up for automatic giving, send in that check if you can't come in person, make a donation online, or consider if you are able a special gift to help us meet summer expenses.
We know it can get warm in the church. Bring a water bottle to refill at our bottle-filling fountain, and be sure to pick up a hand fan. Comfortable, loose fitting clothes are very appropriate for church, so dress to stay cool.
Finally, as you were informed this week in a special message, we've received the news that our beloved Pastor Emily Heitzman has heard the call to serve the students of National Louis University. For eleven years she has built and sustained one of the most remarkable youth and household ministries I've encountered. We have been so richly blessed by her ministry. Mark you calendars for August 7th when we send her off with our blessings.
Take good care.
In Christ,
Pastor Michael
