Ebenezer Tutoring Program 2022-23

As the tutoring program at Ebenezer prepares to return, the program invites new volunteers to consider joining.  The following options provide volunteers to best pick the way to support this program that matches their skills and interests.

1.  From 3:30 - 5:00 PM every Thursday for children in grades 1 - 5. Tutors will be supported by a master primary education teacher and work with the same child or children weekly.

2. From 6:00 - 7:30 PM every Thursday for youth in grades 6 - 12. A quick snack will be provided as tutors and students meet to work on homework and mentoring.  Students will work with tutors who have the expertise needed for certain homework. Ie. students needing help with math will work with the tutor who can help in that area.  Tutors do not need to be able to handle all academic areas.

3.  Volunteers are needed to be substitute tutors for all grade levels. Consider this option if you are not always available but can come on short notice some Thursdays.

4.   Meal or snack providers.  Primary children need a snack before tutorings at 3:30 and tutors and students will be provided a brown bag snack before 6:00. If providing funds for snacks or packing a snack for one of these groups is something you can do, you will be provided more specifics.

Tutoring will begin mid-September and continue most Thursdays throughout the school year. If you are interested, please provide your contact information and area of interest to Georgian Hadley or Jay Dillon.

About Tutoring at Ebenezer

Ebenezer’s weekly tutoring program meets throughout the school year and in 2019 supported 50 students from 1st through 12th grade. We provide something to eat and average 1 tutor with 1 or 2 students for 2 hours.

Tutors and substitutes for all school grades are needed each week from September through May.
